Individual therapy for adults & adolescents 16+

Online via Zoom

Being human makes us uniquely vulnerable to being traumatised. Where animals have in built systems of recovery and resilience in the face of traumatic experience, humans get easily stuck in our survival responses to events that threaten our sense of safety. Because of the way we are wired, our traumatic experience becomes embedded in our nervous systems in ways that go on to inform every aspect of our lives - mostly without us even being aware of it.

Unresolved trauma can account for many of the things we describe as 'mental health issues' - like anxiety, depression, stress, behavioural issues, mood issues, addiction and so on. Trauma is also now recognised as underpinning diagnoses such as borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder and others.

Trauma is stored in our body and changes our biology, so is also connected to physical health issues and many common chronic diseases.

Because trauma frequently happens in relationship with others, it can also have a devastating impact on our relational life, causing us to struggle to experience healthy, safe and meaningful connection with others - or within our own Self.

In individual therapy we take a deep dive into your unique experience of being human and get to the bottom at last, of why you are the way you are. Attending to your mental, emotional, physical, relational and existential needs and experiences, our individual therapy aims to identify and resolve issues at their root cause. In the safety, confidentiality and empathic holding of the therapeutic relationship, we explore, make sense of, integrate and heal those things that sit in the way of you embodying your most authentic and whole Self.
